In Zircon CRM you set income, lead, customer, contract and estimate targets with a deadline, for the whole company or for one person. Nobody types in progress: it is calculated from payments, invoices, leads and contracts, and when the end date arrives the people involved hear whether the goal was met.

In short
How does goal tracking work in Zircon CRM?
Goal tracking shows how far a team has come towards a target number within a set period. In Zircon CRM you can set eight types of goal covering income, invoiced amounts, leads, new customers, contracts and estimates, company-wide or per staff member. Progress is calculated from the records your team already keeps. It is built for owners, sales managers and salespeople.
Sound familiar?
The target gets announced, then nobody looks at it.
If one of these sounds familiar, your targets still live in a slide deck.
- 01
January's number resurfaces in November
At the start of the year you agreed how many new maintenance contracts you needed. The number stayed on a slide, and only at year end does anyone check where you are.
- 02
Everyone counts differently
One salesperson counts invoices sent, another counts money received. The same goal turns up at the meeting with two different results.
- 03
The spreadsheet has been wrong for a week
Someone copies progress into a spreadsheet every week. Miss one week and it no longer matches reality.
What it does
What goal tracking in Zircon CRM gives you.
One short form: subject, goal type, staff member, target, start and end date.
Eight goal types from live data
Total income by payment date, invoiced amount, leads converted to customers, new customers with or without converted leads, contracts by type, and estimates converted to invoices. Contract goals ask for a contract type, so support retainers can be a separate goal from website projects.
Company or personal goals
Leave the staff member empty and the goal belongs to the whole company. Assign it and only that person's results count: for income goals, the invoices where they are the sale agent.
Progress as a percentage
On the goal page, a large progress ring shows the percentage and the running total. The goal shows Very Close from 80%, Achieved at 100%, and Failed once the end date passes without reaching the target.
Goals on the dashboard
The Goals widget lists active goals by end date, each with a progress bar and percentage. The goals list is searchable, sortable and exportable, with a progress ring on every goal.
How it works
A quarterly income goal from start to finish.
- 01
Create the goal
A sales manager opens Goal in the quick-create menu, chooses Achieve Total Income, assigns it to an account manager and sets the quarter's start and end dates.
- 02
Payments count towards it
Every payment recorded on an invoice where that account manager is the sale agent raises the goal's total and percentage. The account manager sees the bar on their dashboard.
- 03
On the end date
The scheduled job (cron) evaluates the goal. The staff member gets a notification of success or failure, listing the goal type, the target, the total achieved and the period.
- 04
If the deadline moves
If you later extend the end date, the goal becomes active again and is evaluated at the new date.
Control
Who sees a goal, and who hears about it.
Success and failure notifications
Both notifications are on by default and can be switched off per goal. The assigned staff member is notified, or every active staff member for company-wide goals. If a finished goal has not been announced yet, Notify Staff Members Manually sends it from the goal page.
Visibility in the widget
Income goals are visible only to staff who can view invoices, customer goals to those who can view customers, and so on. Lead goals are visible to all staff.
Their own permissions
Viewing the goals list, creating, editing and deleting goals are separate permissions, set per role or per staff member.
Works with
Where the numbers behind a goal come from.
- Dashboardactive goals with progress bars, ordered by end date.
- Invoicinginvoices and the payments recorded on them feed income goals, and the sale agent on the invoice decides whose goal they count towards.
- Lead managementleads converted to customers count towards lead goals.
- Contractscontract goals use your existing contract types.
- Estimatesestimates converted to invoices count towards estimate goals, cancelled invoices excluded.
- Reportsthe detailed figures behind goals, such as the income and lead conversion reports.
Honestly
Good to know before you start.
Evaluating goals and sending notifications needs the scheduled job (cron) running on the server.
Income goals add up payments in every currency without conversion, so they give an accurate picture for businesses that invoice in one currency.
A goal belongs to one staff member or to the whole company. There are no team or department goals.
Notifications appear inside Zircon CRM, in the notification bell.
Before you write
Fair questions. Straight answers.
- 01
Can I give one salesperson a personal target in Zircon CRM?
Yes. Pick the staff member on the goal form, and from then on only their results count: for an income goal, the invoices where they are the sale agent; for a lead goal, the leads assigned to them.
- 02
How does Zircon CRM decide whose goal a payment counts towards?
By the sale agent on the invoice. If the account manager is the invoice's sale agent, payments recorded on it count towards their income goal. For a company-wide goal, every payment counts.
- 03
What happens to a goal when its end date arrives?
Zircon CRM evaluates it with the scheduled job: at 100% it is marked as achieved, otherwise as failed, and the people involved are notified. If you extend the end date later, the goal becomes active again.
- 04
Is goal tracking in Zircon CRM accurate across several currencies?
No. Income goals add up payments in different currencies without converting them. Lead, customer, contract and estimate goals count records rather than amounts, so currency does not affect them.
- 05
Can staff see each other's goals on the Zircon CRM dashboard?
Only the goals whose data they are allowed to see. Income goals need permission to view invoices, customer goals permission to view customers; lead goals are visible to everyone.

Bring two or three of next quarter's targets. In the demo we will set them up in Zircon CRM and show you which records the progress is calculated from.
