Zircon CRM / Finance & invoicing
Runs in the browser · HU / EN / DEStripe subscriptions with a paid invoice every cycle
In Zircon CRM you pick a billing plan set up in Stripe, your client enters their card once, and Stripe charges it from then on. Every successful charge becomes an invoice with the next number, already marked as paid.

In short
What is a Stripe subscription in Zircon CRM for?
With a subscription, the client enters their card once and the fee is charged automatically on a schedule. Zircon CRM connects to Stripe Billing: you choose the plan and quantity, the client subscribes on Stripe's page, and every successful charge produces a paid invoice. It suits service businesses that sell standard plans.
Sound familiar?
The card gets charged. The invoice gets forgotten.
If one of these sounds familiar, card billing is still half manual for your team.
- 01
A charge, but no invoice
Stripe takes the fee every month, and someone issues the invoice by hand afterwards. Miss it once and a month is missing from the books.
- 02
An expired card, quietly
The client's card expired, the charge failed, and nobody told them. Two months later you notice the service has been running for free.
- 03
A plan change mid-month
The client wants five licences instead of three. Someone works out the difference by hand and sends it on a separate invoice.
What it does
What Zircon CRM does with Stripe subscriptions.
You create plans and tax rates once in Stripe, and put the subscription together in Zircon CRM.
Plan, quantity, tax
On the subscription form you choose from the active plans in your Stripe account, set the quantity (seats, licences, sites) and up to two Stripe tax rates. The selected tax rates are added to your Zircon CRM tax list too.
Start on a later date
Collect the card today and start billing on a later first billing date. Leave it empty and billing starts on the day the client subscribes.
A paid invoice every cycle
For every successful charge, Zircon CRM creates an invoice with the next number, the client's billing address, the plan as a line item and the Stripe taxes, and records the payment on it. You decide whether the client receives the invoice, the payment receipt, both or nothing by e-mail.
Plan changes with proration
After the client has subscribed, you can still change the plan, quantity and taxes. With each change you decide whether Stripe charges or credits the difference for the current period.
Failed payments and bank authentication
If a charge fails or the client's bank asks for extra confirmation, the client receives an e-mail with a secure link. The subscription status shows the problem until it is resolved.
Cancel and resume
Cancel immediately or at the end of the billing period, and resume a cancellation that has not taken effect yet. If you allow it, the client can do the same in the client portal.
How it works
From billing plan to the first paid invoice.
- 01
Connect Stripe
In the Stripe Checkout gateway settings, enter your keys and create the webhook in one click. Plans and tax rates are created in your Stripe dashboard.
- 02
Build and send
Choose the client, plan, quantity and, if needed, a project and your terms. Send the subscription by e-mail to the primary contact, or share its link.
- 03
The client subscribes
On the branded subscription page they see what they will pay, accept your terms and enter their card on Stripe's secure page. Administrators and the subscription creator receive an e-mail about it.
- 04
Billing runs
On every billing date Stripe charges the card and Zircon CRM creates the paid invoice. Status, next billing date and quantity stay in step even after changes made directly in Stripe.
Works with
Where Stripe subscriptions plug in.
- Online paymentsthe Stripe Checkout keys, webhook and stored card management come from here.
- Invoicingevery cycle becomes a regular, paid invoice that shows up in lists and reports.
- Items, taxes and currenciesStripe tax rates join your tax list, and the currency follows the client.
- Customer managementthe client profile has a subscriptions tab, and the client is linked to the Stripe customer.
- Retainers and recurring servicesthe option without Stripe, for custom-priced retainers paid by bank transfer.
Honestly
Good to know before you start.
You need a Stripe account and the Stripe Checkout gateway set up with keys and webhook. Plans and tax rates are created in Stripe.
The invoice created for each cycle is not issued in Számlázz.hu by itself, and the Stripe payment is not sent there either. For an official invoice reported to the Hungarian tax authority, upload the invoice.
No scheduled job (cron) is needed here: Stripe events arrive through the webhook.
Subscriptions created with Stripe test keys can no longer be opened after you switch to live keys, only deleted, so test data never mixes with live billing.
Before you write
Fair questions. Straight answers.
- 01
What is the difference between Stripe subscriptions and retainers in Zircon CRM?
With a Stripe subscription, Stripe charges the client's card and every cycle produces a paid invoice. Retainers work without Stripe: they hold the fee with custom lines and prices, and put a task in front of the right person before each billing date.
- 02
Can Stripe start charging on a later date?
Yes. On the Zircon CRM subscription form you can set a future first billing date, and the client stores their card in the meantime. This is not available for daily and weekly plans, and for monthly plans the date can be at most one billing interval ahead.
- 03
What happens when the client's card is declined?
Zircon CRM e-mails the client asking them to update their payment details, with a copy to the subscription creator. The subscription shows as past due while Stripe retries, and as unpaid once the retries are used up.
- 04
Can clients cancel their own subscription?
Yes, if you show subscriptions in the client portal. The primary contact can cancel in the Zircon CRM portal immediately or at period end, undo a scheduled cancellation and, if you allow it, replace the stored card.
