CRM customisation: your menu, your colours, your PDFs

In Zircon CRM you reorder the menu by dragging, hide what you do not use, and set the interface and the customer portal to your company colours. Your logo appears everywhere from the login page to the invoice PDF, with no development work.

In short

What can you change when customising Zircon CRM?

CRM customisation means the system's menus and look adapt to your company, not the other way round. In Zircon CRM an administrator reorders the main and setup menus by dragging, hides unused items, sets more than 30 colours with a live preview, and adds logos, a favicon and PDF branding. It is built for administrators and the people who own the brand.

Sound familiar?

The system works. It just doesn't look like yours.

If one of these rings true, the interface is still running on its defaults.

  1. 01

    Hunting through the menu

The new colleague asks for the third time where projects are. The menu is full of items nobody in the company uses.

  2. 02

An invoice that doesn't look like you

The website and business cards are in company colours, but the invoice PDF goes out with default colours and a default font.

  3. 03

    The designer can't get in

The designer only wants to change one font in the interface, but there is nowhere to enter it, and it would mean waiting for developer time.

What it does

What the Zircon CRM menu and theme tools can do.

Three tools: the menu editor, the colour editor, and the logo and PDF settings.

Menus by drag and drop

Reorder the items of the main menu and the setup menu by dragging, and move sub-items into another group if you like. Menu items added by modules, such as Social Manager or the media library, can be arranged the same way. Once saved, everyone sees the new menu straight away.

Hidden items and your own icons

Hide the items you do not use and they disappear from every staff member's menu. Give any item a new Font Awesome icon by entering its name.

Colours with a live preview

More than 30 colour pickers on tabs: admin area, customer portal, buttons, pop-up windows, tables, links and accent text colours. Every tag can have its own colour, so "VIP" or "Urgent" stands out in lists.

Custom CSS in three places

Separate CSS boxes for the admin area, the customer portal, and both together, for example for fonts or spacing.

Dark and light logo

Upload the dark and the light logo and the favicon. If you choose a dark header colour, the header switches to the light logo by itself.

Branded PDFs

Invoices, estimates, proposals, credit notes, contracts, payment receipts and statements use your font, table heading colours, logo and signature image. A4 or Letter, portrait or landscape, per document type.

How it works

CRM customisation, done in an afternoon.

  1. 01

    Logos and favicon

In the general settings, upload the dark and the light logo and the favicon.

  2. 02

    Colours

In the colour editor, set the sidebar, header and button colours while watching the preview. If needed, add a font rule in the custom CSS.

  3. 03

    Menu

In the main menu, drag projects and tasks to the top, hide what is not needed and save.

  4. 04

    PDF

In the PDF settings, choose the font, the table heading colours, the paper format and the signature image. Staff see the new interface straight away, and customers see the branded portal and documents.

Control

Admins look after the brand.

Admins only

The menu editor and the colour editor are for administrators only. Logo, favicon and PDF settings need the Settings permission.

No locking yourself out

In the setup menu, the Modules and Settings items cannot be hidden, so an administrator can never lock themselves out.

Back at any time

Reset restores the default order, icons and visibility of the menu. For colours, Reset clears the colours but keeps your custom CSS.

Honestly

Good to know before you start.

  • Hiding a menu item tidies navigation but is not a permission: access is controlled by roles.

  • Menu labels follow the active language. You cannot rename them in the menu editor; that needs a text override in the language settings.

  • The colours apply to the admin area, the customer portal, the login pages and public forms, not to e-mails. E-mail templates can include the logo as a merge field.

  • The customer portal comes with one theme, which the colour editor and custom CSS shape further.

Before you write

Fair questions. Straight answers.

  1. 01

Do I need a developer for CRM customisation in Zircon CRM?

No. You set the menu, colours, logos and PDF branding in the Zircon CRM settings by clicking and dragging. The custom CSS boxes are there for when your designer wants something no colour picker covers.

  2. 02

Can unused modules be hidden from the Zircon CRM menu?

Yes. In the menu editor any single item and any sub-item can be hidden for everyone. Groups such as Sales stay, but each of their sub-items can be hidden on its own.

  3. 03

Can I use a dark header with a light logo in Zircon CRM?

Yes. If you choose a dark header background, the system shows the light logo automatically, and with a dark sidebar the profile card text switches to light as well.

  4. 04

Which paper sizes do Zircon CRM PDF documents use?

You choose per document type between A4 portrait, A4 landscape, Letter portrait and Letter landscape, so invoices can differ from contracts. The company and customer detail blocks can also be swapped.
