An app directory that opens every tool in one click

The app directory in Zircon CRM lists the tools your team uses, each with a logo, a short description and a link. Any of them opens in a new tab, from the cards, from the dashboard or from the global search.

In short

What does the Zircon CRM app directory do?

An app directory is a shared, searchable list of the tools a company uses. In Zircon CRM an administrator adds the applications with name, logo, description and link, and staff reach them in a card view, on the dashboard launcher and in the global search. It is built for every staff member who switches between many tools a day.

Sound familiar?

The tools are there, nobody can find them.

If two of these ring true, your links are still scattered.

  1. 01

A new colleague's first week is spent asking

Where's the wiki, which one is the hosting panel, what's the address of the design tool: every link has to be requested from someone.

  2. 02

    Bookmarks drift apart

Everyone has different bookmarks, and nobody knows which of the old addresses still work.

  3. 03

The internal tool's link is buried in an old chat

The address of the automation platform is somewhere in a conversation. By the time it turns up, someone has asked again.

What it does

What the Zircon CRM launcher does.

A simple tool: there is nothing to configure, you just add the applications.

Card view with instant search

Each application is a card with logo, name, the web address's domain and one sentence on what the team uses it for. The search filters as you type, matches name, description and address, and ignores accents, so "szamlazz" finds "Számlázz".

A keyboard launcher

The / key jumps to the search, Enter opens the first match in a new tab, Esc clears the search. The search term stays in the page address, so a filtered view can be shared as a link.

Launcher on the dashboard

The Applications widget shows up to 16 tiles on the dashboard in the shared order. With more applications, the last tile leads to the full list. Like other dashboard widgets, it can be moved.

Global search

Applications also appear in the system's global search. If they have a link, the result opens the tool straight away in a new tab.

Logo or initials

You upload a logo by browsing, dragging the file onto the form or pasting from the clipboard: PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or SVG, up to 2 MB. Without a logo the card gets a coloured initials tile, with the colour derived from the name, so it looks the same everywhere.

Shared order by drag and drop

Users with edit rights sort the cards by dragging, and the new order is saved at once. The same order applies to the cards, the widget and the search results.

Safe image handling

The image type is detected from the file's actual content, large images are scaled down to logo size, and scripts and external references are removed from SVG files.

How it works

A few applications, and the shared launcher is ready.

  1. 01

    Add an application

An office manager adds an application on the Applications page: name, link, a one-line description such as "Company wiki and meeting notes", and pastes in the logo.

  2. 02

    Check the link

When you leave the link field, the system adds https:// in front, so you see exactly what will be saved. Internal addresses with a port are accepted.

  3. 03

    Set the order

The most-used tools are dragged to the front.

  4. 04

    Use it

From then on every colleague sees the tools on the dashboard and opens them with the search or the / key.

Control

Everyone can browse, few people edit the list.

Three permissions

Create, edit (including reordering) and delete are separate permissions. The directory, the widget and the search results are visible to every staff member.

Logged and handed over

Adding, editing and deleting applications is written to the activity log. When a staff member is deleted, the applications they added are kept and handed over together with their other data.

Honestly

Good to know before you start.

  • The directory collects links; it is not an integration and exchanges no data with the tools you add.

  • The list is shared by the whole team. There are no personal lists; only the choice between card and list view is personal.

  • Only web links (http or https) can be added.

Before you write

Fair questions. Straight answers.

  1. 01

What is the difference between the app directory and Zircon CRM's integrations?

Integrations exchange data between Zircon CRM and other services, such as Számlázz.hu. The directory only collects links to every other tool the team uses alongside the system.

  2. 02

Can I add a tool that is only reachable on our internal network to Zircon CRM?

Yes, as long as it has a web address. The link can include a port, such as the address of an internal n8n instance. Zircon CRM accepts only http and https links.

  3. 03

Can each staff member set up their own application list?

No. In Zircon CRM the list and its order are shared by the whole team and maintained by those with edit rights. Personally, you only choose between cards and a table view, and the system remembers your choice.

  4. 04

How do I open an application from the keyboard in Zircon CRM?

On the Applications page the / key takes you to the search, you type the start of the name, and Enter opens the first match in a new tab. Every application you add can also be reached from the global search.
